Want to quell that pain from those dastardly hemorrhoids as fast as possible? Well, these hemorrhoids home treatment methods are going to help you out! It is worth noting however that these home remedies are not going to be any substitute for going to see a doctor.
If you are suffering from the condition then do make sure that you visit a professional. They will be able to provide you with the best possible advice on how to deal with them. You can of course still use these remedies to help ease the discomfort though. Let’s take a little look.
What Your Doctor will Advise?
If you go to your doctor then they will most likely tell you to get medicated creams. They may prescribe you one (generally if you are suffering from more severe cases of hemorrhoids) or they may tell you to go to the pharmacist and get one of your choosing. There are plenty on the market and each is designed to do a different job. Some of them are even good at multiple jobs! Medicated creams will be used as a sort of painkiller whilst also reducing the amount of inflammation. If you are lucky then medicated creams will be the only form of treatment that you will end up needing. They should clear up most cases of hemorrhoids.
The best creams that are available on the market will contain the compound known as hydrocortisone. This will reduce the inflammation of the hemorrhoids in a matter of days and thus it is going to be a very effective treatment.
The only problem is that hydrocortisone cream is a steroid based ointment, thus side effects more likely to appear. Alternatively, most of the people prefer to use a 100% natural, no side-effects and FDA approved ointment, Click Here to see the cream I’m talking about.
Let me be clear, I do not suggest that you just look into the idea of medication, especially when treating hemorrhoids in pregnancy . There are plenty of other hemorrhoids home treatment methods that you can use to eliminate the pain and clear up the condition a bit quicker. Here are a few ideas.
All Natural Hemorrhoids Home Treatment you can do at Home
Your Bathroom Habits
Your bathroom habits are going to play a major role in ensuring that your hemorrhoids are kept in check. Later I will talk about how long you should be sitting on the toilet (see the section on reducing strain on your anus). Here I want to talk about your cleaning habits.
- The first thing that you need to do is to make sure that your anus is clean at all times. An unclean anus can lead to an infection which will cause the hemorrhoids to swell up even more. You do not need to do much to ensure that it is clean. A bit of water in the shower will do. You need to make sure that you do not use any soaps. This will make the problem worse.
- You should also avoid wiping with dry toilet paper. This is going to hurt….a lot! Moistening up the toilet paper is good for when you wipe as this is going to be just soft enough to not cause any strain on the hemorrhoids. You can of course skip the toilet paper thing altogether though and instead opt for washing in the shower. It is important that you do not use pre-moistened paper. This will be moistened with chemicals and as you should know by now, these chemicals are not going to be good for your hemorrhoids in any way, shape or form.
Warm Baths or Sitz Bath
A warm bath is absolutely perfect for quelling some of that pain for a while. It is important that you do not add anything to the bath. Warm water is all that is needed. You can then just sit in it and feel all of that intense pain and discomfort swim away!
If you do not have a bath then you may be able to purchase a small tub and take advantage of sitz bath. This is a hemorrhoids home treatment technique which has been especially designed for those who are suffering from lower body pain. It involves sitting in a tub of warm water which covers only the lower half of your body. This means only up to your hips. You will not need to use much water at all. Again, it is important that you do not add any chemicals to the bath as it will make the pain far worse in some circumstances.
The Application of Cold
Applying a cold compress to the anus can help to reduce the pain considerably. This is because it will reduce the inflammation and thus allow the blood to flow in and out of those hemorrhoids with ease.
There are a number of products available from the pharmacies which have been especially designed for those with hemorrhoids. These are often cold gels or very discreet products which emit cold which can be put into the anus. These products will often give you hours of relief. Sadly though, they are a bit expensive. You can of course just use a cold pack if you wish. However this is of course not going to be the ideal remedy for all situations. It can get a little bit uncomfortable!
Aloe Vera is a wonderful treatment for all sorts of conditions. You really should have some of this to hand at all times. It is important that you only use pure Aloe Vera. It can be purchased from all decent health stores.
Aloe Vera is applied directly to the hemorrhoids using soft cotton. Almost instantly you will find that the pain disappears as well as that itching discomfort.
This is one of the hemorrhoids home treatment solutions which you can use time and time again. The pain relief will last a good couple of hours which will allow you to get on with whatever you have got to do.
Reduce the Strain on the Anus
It is important that you put as little strain on the lower half of your body as possible. This means that you should not be sitting down or standing up for prolonged periods of time. Change up what you are doing. You will feel better as a result. If you feel like you are in a lot of pain then you should try and lay down. Many people say that this is more than enough for them to get through the worst of it.
Another thing which could cause a lot of strain is sitting down on the toilet for too long and trying to force yourself to pass. Do not do this. This is perhaps the worst thing that you can do. Sitting down on that toilet and straining is most likely going to lead to the hemorrhoids getting a whole lot worse. I am going to guess that this is not something that you want to happen.
If you do need to sit around for long periods of time, perhaps due to your job, then a pillow on your chair is going to be a godsend. This will help reduce the amount of strain on the lower half of the body considerably. It is still advised to get up and walk around for a while. This should tide you over until then though. If you can’t take the pain anymore consider hemorrhoidal ointment!
If the pain is unbearable and none of these treatments seem to work then I suggest that you get hold of some over the counter anti-inflammatory medication. Perhaps the best one to use is ibuprofen. If you take the painkillers (do not forget to follow the instructions on the packet to ensure that you do not take too much!) then the pain should subside in about twenty minutes. If you are taking other medication then I suggest that you get in touch with your doctor before you start to take any painkiller. This way you can be sure that there will be no conflict between the medication or any previous conditions that you may have suffered from.
Finally, it is important that you consider your diet. In fact, this is one of the best hemorrhoids home treatment methods. You are of course going to want to get a ton of fiber into your diet. This will make things easier to pass and thus put a great deal less strain on the hemorrhoids. You will also want to cut out foods that will cause you a lot of pain (trust me here. Eating spicy foods is not a good idea if you are suffering from the condition!). Make sure that you drink plenty of water and just have a good all-round healthy diet, consider exercises for hemorrhoids. Even if it does not clear up your hemorrhoids you will feel healthier overall which is always a plus. Read more about hemorrhoid diet plan.
This is of course just a very brief guide to hemorrhoids home treatment. I do however hope it shows you that there is quite a lot that you can do to ease the pain of the condition. These methods will most likely not completely cure the condition (although many people do notice that their hemorrhoids clear up on their own), however, they should do enough to make it a great deal more bearable.
